It’s often said that the key to a full life is a balance of health and wellness. To be fit is to feel better, but this can sometimes be easier said than done. At The Georgia Club, located near Athens, every aspect of wellness is incorporated into the daily routine. It’s the perfect lifestyle for mind, body, and spirit.
Finding the time for fitness can often be a challenge, but for the residents of The Georgia Club, variety is the spice of life. The community boasts an onsite aquatic and fitness center, community garden for fresh produce, and picturesque walking trails throughout the gated golf course community. Resident tennis pro, Paul Allen, is also working closely with residents to achieve their personal goals.
“Tennis is a great way to have fun and get fit at the same time. And you don’t have to be a pro to get in a good workout. At The Georgia Club, we offer tennis lessons to ages and skill levels of all kinds. From people who have never picked up a racquet, to young adults looking to play at the college level, to empty nesters searching for an active hobby, we’re here to help. We also offer kids’ camps during the summer: a perfect mixture of fitness and fun.”
The Fitness and Aquatic Center at The Georgia Club is state of the art. Stretching, cardio, free weights, and strength training equipment are readily available and the adjacent full-length lap pool is a popular choice for low-impact aerobic workouts.
The aquatics center has become a popular gathering place for residents of all ages. Different groups gravitate toward different spaces, so quiet moments and splashy fun co-exist. Quiet time at the adult lap pool complements the lively times in the main pool where families of all ages can gather for hoops, the playground, and a splash pad for young children—complete with pop-up fountains.
But if you’re wondering what Allen keeps as his number one fitness secret: “Always keep moving. In tennis and in general, fitness is built through constant motion.”
The Georgia Club master plan inspires connectivity between neighbors. A simple stroll on the extra-wide sidewalks invites conversation at the neighborhood pocket parks, complete with fire pits, gazebos and outdoor furniture. The parks are equally matched by the charming architecture and thoughtfully-designed interiors of The Georgia Club residences, priced from the $300’s.
One visit to The Georgia Club, and you’ll understand why others have called it “one of the prettiest places on earth.” Outstanding amenities, fun-loving neighbors and beautiful homes, all designed for the happiness and well being of its residents.

Paul was practically born with a tennis racquet in his hand. A native of Lawrence, Kansas, and the son of two school teachers, his parents taught swimming and played tennis each summer at the local country club, fostering Paul’s love of the game. When he was 10 years old, his family moved to Athens, and Paul’s passion for tennis grew. Paul is committed to continue to grow the tennis program and to make The Georgia Club a top facility for tennis instruction, competition, and most importantly – fun!
